Thiafoura is located 70 km from Dakar and has approximately 4,000 inhabitants. The village has only one elementary school and no secondary school. The nearest high schools are located in neighboring villages: Guéréo (2 km) and Kiniabour (3 km).
The initial project consisted of building:
4 classrooms for a full secondary school cycle
1 teacher’s room and office
Sanitary facilities
This project was built in partnership with the engineering school Huma’ISA, which sent its students to construct the school over 6 weeks in 2025.
LBMS’ role included:
Identifying a village in need and securing the site
Coordinating on-site construction networks
Managing logistics to host 70 students during the construction period
The secondary school opened in October 2025 and is now fully operational.
Library construction
In addition to the classrooms, a library was built in May 2025, dimensioned to match a classroom so it can also be used during examinations.

The next phase will consist of building three additional classrooms for the lycée, starting in January 2026, using the same construction techniques as the library.
